COMMISSION VICE-CHAIR BODE NAMED TO BUSH ENERGY TEAM, PRAISES CHOICE FOR ENERGY SECRETARY

(Oklahoma City) – Oklahoma Corporation Commission Vice-Chair Denise Bode has been named to the committee which will be advising the Bush Administration on energy policy. Bode has a long association with the energy industry, including serving as President of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the chief advocate for America’s independent oil and natural gas producers.

"Having a good energy policy is critical to ensure a sound and stable economy," said Bode. "I look forward to providing input in the development of President-elect Bush’s energy policy for the nation."

The Commissioner also said she looks forward to working with the man nominated today to be the new U.S. Secretary of Energy, calling Spencer Abraham of Michigan "a strong conservative who is clearly committed to working toward a viable domestic energy policy for America."
