What is a Pipeline Acceptance? A Pipeline Acceptance is a written document filed with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. The filer agrees to comply with the provisions of 52 O.S. 8, 21-34, 51- 67, 236-247, and the Constitution of the State of Oklahoma. These sections concern the Production and Transportation Act, oil and gas companies and pipelines, and the conservation of oil and gas.
Is a form required? The Oklahoma Corporation Commission has developed an acceptance form, which can be used. However, it is not necessary to use the form provided by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. Any document stating that the operator of the pipeline accepts and agrees to all requirements as outlined by State Statutes will be accepted.
Who is required to file a Pipeline Acceptance? Any corporation, joint stock company, partnership,or person who will exercise or claim the right to carry or transport natural gas, crude oil, petroleum, or any of the products thereof and in doing so claim the right of eminent domain, must file a Pipeline Acceptance.
Must every pipeline operator file a Pipeline Acceptance Form? No, it is not necessary for a pipeline operator to file a Pipeline Acceptance Form with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. However, any operator planning to exercise the right of eminent domain must have a Pipeline Acceptance on file with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission for the pipeline project.
Where must the Pipeline Acceptance be filed? The Pipeline Acceptance must be filed with the Court Clerks Office of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
What are the filing requirements? Along with the Pipeline Acceptance Form or an equivalent document, the operator must submit a plat showing in detail the Oklahoma points along the route of the proposed pipeline, the intended size and capacity of the proposed pipeline, and the location and capacity of all pumping stations, gate valves, check valves, connections, and appliances to be used in the pipeline. One original and three copies must be filed. If you need additional file copies, additional copies of the Pipeline Acceptance Form or equivalent document must be submitted at the time of filing.
