Transportation Division

The IRP and IFTA registration systems will be unavailable beginning at 5 p.m., May 26, 2017 until Thursday June 1, 2017. This will impact both on-line applications and those filed at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission’s Transportation Division. This action is necessary to implement the new IFTA online system, which will save motor carriers time and money. While the system is down, no IRP registrations, IFTA quarterly returns, IFTA licenses or IFTA decals can be processed/issued either on-line or at the Transportation Division offices. There will also be downtime for trip permits, unladen permits and fuel permits, but we anticipate that downtime will be shorter. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The Transportation Division administers and enforces various federal and state trucking regulations and passenger carrier regulations relating to interstate and intrastate motor carrier licenses, permits, and certificates. In addition, the Transportation Division registers commercial motor vehicles though the International Registration Plan (IRP).

Additionally, the Transportation Division administers and enforces regulations regarding nonconsensual towing and storage rates and mediates related complaints; enforces certain state railroad regulations; and enforces pipeline safety regulations.
